RFID Reader

Power

A low loss antenna may be used in the reader to make it 10x more efficient than standard technology. This has direct benefits in battery powered applications such as hand held readers and our first product of an RFID equipped pet door.

Range

Range may be improved through the use of a higher interrogation field strength, for the same total power. In addition, the reader has  excellent noise performance without a separate tuning circuit coupling phase noise into the system. Outstanding range is achieved within tight cost constraints. 

Detuning

Although detuning is more relevant to the transponder, it still may influence the system performance, depending on the required reader environment. Our technology is highly tolerant to detuning.

Cost

Tight cost constraints favour our technology, since the component tolerance may be relaxed and there is no requirement for a separate tuning circuit. More efficient operation may also generate knock on savings in the system power supply.

Multi-Band Operation

If there is a requirement for the reader to operate at multiple frequencies then this range may be designed into the operating band. For example, the two common low frequencies of 125kHz and 134kHz may be accommodated in one single design.
